 A juicer comprising: a region configured to receive one or more compressible juicer cartridges including an outlet and food matter contained therein; a pressing element configured to apply pressure to the one or more juice cartridges, wherein the region and the pressing element are configured and arranged to dispense fluid extracted from the one or more juicer cartridges without the extracted fluid or the food matter directly contacting the region or pressing element; and a cutting element or piercing element configured and arranged to open the outlet of each juicer cartridge of the one or more juicer cartridges.
